Dear Partners and Colleagues,
 

We are pleased to announce that the next Slingshot Development Fund Board Meeting is scheduled for October 2025. We warmly invite you to submit funding proposals for consideration by the deadline of September 1, 2025. 
We typically request one-year proposals, but also welcome six-month proposals for new initiatives beginning in October or November 2025. Proposals will be reviewed during the October Board meeting, and if approved, funds will be disbursed in the third or final week of October. 

Please ensure that budget estimates are realistic and appropriate, keeping in mind that Slingshot is a small, flexible funder with limited capacity for large-scale funding. 

Funding Priorities:

• Community-based organizations, local initiatives, and emergency relief projects serving people affected by the Yadana gas pipeline (generally defined as the region between Ye and Dawei).

• Community-based organizations and emergency relief efforts in the Thanintharyi Division and Mon State. 

• Projects providing critical emergency humanitarian relief, education, or food security support. 

Ineligible Projects:

Please note that Slingshot does not fund: 

• Political parties 

• Governments 

• Armed organizations 

• Microfinance initiatives 

• Individual grantees 

We encourage you to share this call with organizations aligned with our criteria, particularly those working within our primary geographic focus. 
For new applicants, we recommend reaching out for an initial conversation before submitting a proposal.
